International online conference "Kazakhstan: the Politics of Historical Memory"

On the eve of the Memorial Day of the Victims of Political Repression and Famine, the International online conference "Kazakhstan: the Politics of Historical Memory" was held in the House of Friendship (Nur-Sultan). This event, organized by the Assembly of the People of Kazakhstan, is held in the capital annually. And each time the topic of historical memory collects a large number of researchers, public and state figures, teachers, scientists from different states.

This year the plenary session has passed a round table format, moderated by the Deputy Chairman of APK, Head of Secretariat of the APK of presidential Administration of the Republic of Kazakhstan Zhanseit Kanseitovich Tuimebayev. Most of the participants went live from home offices and institutions.

The plenary session was followed by panel sessions. In the second session "Famine. War. Lessons", experts of the "ALTAIR" Children's Books Academy presented their report. Professor Nursulu Zhamalbekovna Shaimerdenova and Associate Professor Jemma Bolatovna Amanzholova. They told about the project "Letter to the Past" dedicated to the 75th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War, about the importance of educating the younger generation of respect and reverence for the feat of their ancestors and studying family archives.
